Commissioned by Constellation Men’s Ensemble for the eighth installment of their NOVA New Music Series, “At Home Here” explores cultivation of belonging in the wonderful Windy City through a patchwork of new and found texts. As a recent transplant upon starting this project, I felt it important to acknowledge my limited experience while capturing the Chicago’s immense, enriching variety of life. Original entrees are woven with forecasts, information on Chicago parks, the dimensions of Cloud Gate – slices of life which have helped me to so quickly feel at home here.
